when i was little, saturday mornings meant donuts for breakfast and a trip to the farmers market. i remember the sweet smell of kettle corn and coming home with bags of fresh produce and colorful honey sticks. and usually a new beanie baby from the antique store down the street.
we heard about a local farmers market here in san clemente and were excited to see what they had to offer. the air was thick with ocean and the sky was overcast and my sweet little babe was quite the ham, waving and smiling to every new friend and every doggie we walked by...including the largest great dane in the history of the world, who popped his head in ava's stroller to say hi.
we bought pounds and pounds of fresh peaches and white nectarines, strawberries by the flat, fresh baked sourdough and cinnamon swirl bread, and a bar of handmade soap with lavender essential oils. we (reluctantly) passed on the fresh popsicles and homemade tamales...but there's always next week.
the san clemente farmers market is open on sundays from 9am-12pm on del mar.
