today i am excited to share the first of my 14 resolutions of 2014!
not to beat a dead horse or anything (it's the ninth...i'm sure you're done hearing about new years resolutions) but i love this time of year and the clean slate it brings. an empty year waiting to be filled, full of endless possibilities.
my first resolution is to spend more time outside.
(side note: and first let me make a disclaimer that my child does NOT wear this beanie and sweater every day...it just seems like every time i get the camera out she is wearing them? she just started keeping a hat on so we are kind of stoked about her cute face and warm ears in this texas chill.) but anyway, back to the outdoors...i want to be outside more. i want to hear more birds and feel more sunshine on my skin and breathe in more outside air. i want to go on more evening walks and maybe even a couple morning walks too, if by some miracle i evolve into a morning person. i want to take ava to more parks and watch her swing on her daddy's lap more often. i want to choose to eat lunch on the outside patio and i want to wander around county roads to pet miniature donkeys. i want my daughter to grow up with memories of playing in the street and feeling grass under her bare feet. i want all of that.
