spring has sprung! and it is most welcome. sunshine on my face is one of my favorite feelings.
we are visiting my beloved college town of provo, utah in a couple weeks and i am just bursting with excitement about it. i remember my first year away from home and watching the seasons change. i grew up in california, where the only season we know is perfect, and feeling crisp fall in the air and seeing the winter's first snow and watching the cherry blossom trees bloom was like magic to me. magic. spring was a breath of fresh air to me; they were a symbol of hope and sunnier days ahead. they were fluffy pink beacons of happiness against cold grey mornings on byu campus. sheesh, nostalgia is a real beast, isn't she?
i bought these faux blossoms and vase at michaels for 50% off both, bringing the grand total of this arrangement to $24. each blossom sprig was only $2.50, while they are a whopping $13 at my beloved target right now.
and can we talk about that beautiful little child pictured above? she is obsessed with "a-si" which can be translated to "outside." she is much too busy to pose for the camera...there are rocks to climb and flowers to pick and grass to run on and every day she reminds me of what a wondrous world we live in and how good it is to be alive. that little 23lb fireball sure keeps me on my toes, but she is my whole heart and there is nothing i love like those cheeks of hers.
