i apologize that these pics are kind of purple...we snapped these real quick after our usual saturday lunch out and my iso was at the wrong setting. you see, i only get about 3 minutes to take these outfit pics before my child runs away or starts to scream or something. but hey, purple is cool! we're going to run with it.
this outfit totals a whopping $31! and believe it or not, the most expensive item is the necklace, which i bought at charlotte russe for (full price) $10. the almost-kimono/almost-blazer thing i bought at kmart on sale for $5 (cheaper in stores than online) and the sandals were a snag for $6 at target a few months back. i picked up this tshirt dress at walmart for $10 and i am obsessed with it. i will probably go back and buy every different color because i think these babies are so versatile and so comfortable. i imagine wearing it in the fall with a leather jacket, ankles boots and a scarf. i can't find the link online, but go search your local walmart and you might just be pleasantly surprised.
so the moral of this post is this: you don't have to go to the mall and spend a small fortune to look cute and feel good about yourself. in a perfect world, we would all have the self-esteem to wear our grandma's hand-me-down nighties out of the house every day and feel awesome about it, but in the real world, it feels good to look pretty and stylish and to wear something new and do your makeup nice and have your husband tell you how pretty you look. that feels good. and the fashion industry tells us we have to pay a lot of money for designer clothes and fancy sunglasses and diamond jewelry, but they are lying. a little kmart and walmart action mixed with a lot of target clearance can get you pretty far, my friends.
