so when we moved into our house last year, my inlaws gave me an old vacuum they had. it was nothing special but honestly, i didn't really care because it picked up goldfish crumbles and whatever else we spilled on our carpet and that was good enough for me.
we got this new hoover air cordless lift vacuum in the mail last week and it had changed my life. no joke. i know that sounds really dramatic, but really i think that unless you're a mom, you probably don't understand just how important freaking vacuums are. david opened the box and put it together in a snap and he was giddy like it was christmas morning or something, so he started to vacuum our living room at like 11pm. i should probably preference this by saying that my house is always clean. it just is. i like a clean house and it's always so much easier for me to feel peace when my home is clean, so i vacuum regularly. anyway, david started to vacuum and we were blown away at how much dust this vacuum sucked up. the entire canister was almost full with dust and dirt that my other vacuum had missed. that's when i think i understood that vacuums are one of those things you can't skimp on and buy the $50 knock off version. we were breathing in all that dust, ava was playing on that dirt, my friends laid their babies on it. it really just grosses me out and oy vey, am i thankful that we've seen the light now.
so onto my next story about this vacuum's wonder: we're doing some woodwork in our living room and i expected some dust, but what we got was a dust disaster like you wouldn't believe. words really won't do it justice, but please just trust that i'm not exaggerating when i tell you that there was dust an inch thick on my carpet and my wood floors were covered so much that they looked grey. it was terrifying and if you know how anal i am about my house being clean, you can imagine that i was freaking out. like tears falling, yelling at my husband, freaking out. and seriously, i don't know what we would have done if we didn't have this vacuum. it has two modes, one for carpet and one for hard floors, and it cleaned both of them incredibly. it also has a "boost mode" that is awesome for when you just need a little bit of extra power for particularly troublesome spots. like my carpet. it uses windtunnel 3 technology that provides unbelievable performance and suction power to lift and remove dirt. david also wants to point out that the hose comes with some handle attachments that are oh-so-convenient for those with back problems, so you don't have to bend over to suck up corners and against baseboards, etc.
another thing that makes this vacuum the best in all the land: it is cordless. so you might be thinking, i don't even mind my cord, why would i want cordless? and let me tell you. no cord means you have the freedom to move around your home with ease. no plugging and unplugging, no winding and unwinding, no tugging, tripping or general cord annoying-ness. and when your house is covered in dust and you take your rugs outside into the driveway in the middle of the night to vacuum them, you need cordless. also this baby has a light on it, so you can vacuum in the dark. i seriously feel like this vacuum was a gift from heaven.
so how does this vacuum get its power if it's cordless? let me drop some knowledge on you. the hoover cordless line is powered by an interchangeable battery system that works with all products in the hoover cordless line. the LithiumLife batteries have double the capacity of the standard 18-volt lithium Ion batteries which means longer runtime and fade-free power. they charge super fast and my vacuum came with two, so i was never without power. these batteries are interchangeable with other hoover products, 4 cordless including 3 vacuums and 1 hard floor wet cleaner, so you have the tools to tackle any mess, whether it's the whole house or just a quick pick-up.
have i convinced you yet? if this vacuum isn't on your christmas list, you're making a huge mistake. it's absolutely incredible.
