my extraordinary kid

i think the hardest part of moving around so much during the summer is worrying about how ava feels about it. my biggest fear is that she will feel lost or scared or that she will miss the comforts and familiar faces of home. she is my baby and the minute i found out she existed, i vowed to protect her and provide for her and all i want to do in life is to live up to that promise. i am the one she runs to when she's fallen down and bonked her head and i am the one she calls out for when she's wrestling with her daddy and needs someone to come heroically save the day. i am her mom and it's my job to be her person.

ava surprises me in so many ways every day. she is extraordinarily resilient and that makes me so proud. she is the champion of sleeping in hotel bathrooms and making friends out of the housekeeping staff. she is our little sidekick and our biggest motivator and she reminds us everyday to stop and smell the flowers, enjoy the little things and celebrate this life.

what makes your kid extraordinary isn’t just the epic stuff. it’s the little things. the small moments that maybe only you see — and quietly celebrate every day.

your kid, my kid, and every kid, is extraordinary. celebrate your extraordinary kid and all the special things they do.

show your baby how much you enjoy every moment together by creating a special video of your own and watch the video i made for my ava girl here.
