we finally made it to mount rushmore last sunday and it was kind of the perfect finale to our fourth of july weekend. mount rushmore is in custer, south dakota and i've already gone on and on about how charming south dakota is, but custer is such a dream. it's like a little old-fashioned country town lined with antique stores and pie shops and miles of pine trees.
my little brother and his best friend sawyer are here with us for the summer now and we took them to rushmore as a little introduction to the great mid-west. (we're in the mid-west right? geography isn't my thing.) it is so fun to have two extra sets of hands to help with ava and she is just smitten with those two boys following her around. she cried the saddest crocodile tears last night when it was time to say goodnight to the boys. it was the cutest little hissy fit i've ever seen.
we are back in wyoming in the great little town of gillette! we've never been here before, so we are excited to explore the city and get on that yelp for some really delicious restaurants. it never disappoints!
