merry christmas, guys!
our christmas lights and christmas tree were up the day after thanksgiving. we are wasting no time in getting in the christmas spirit over here! i think we have a total of like 6 christmas movies recorded on our dvr and our electric bill is bound to be through the roof because our christmas tree is lit all.day.long. 'tis the season!
i snapped these pictures a couple nights ago. this is our first christmas in a home of our own and my heart is so full. for the longest time, i dreamed of what it would be like to have our own place where we could make our own memories and establish our own lives. and sometimes i feel like i have to pinch myself because it just isn't getting old...i am so in love with this little house of ours and can't wait for santa to come visit us!
my mom started a santa claus collection for me when i got married and i look forward to a new santa every year. i made this "oh holy night" board for the mantel (tutorial coming soon!) and i am smitten by it. i wanted to keep the reason for the season center-focused, and i love the big impact this piece has. it's also my most favorite christmas hymn. our stockings are from pottery barn and the garlands are from target. the tree is from walmart (black friday 30% off!) and i have always wanted a flocked tree so i'm pretty stoked. it has the kind of shape i love - not too cone-like and not too perfect. i originally thought i'd deck it out, but i am kind of liking the simplicity of a bare tree. but who knows, i may change my mind. it's only december 3...i got time.
and hey, here's some daytime shots, just in case you were wondering what my other christmas stuff looks like. i'm in love with my "noel" pillow (also from target, i have a problem) and love how it brings some christmas flair to the living room without screaming "holly jolly christmas."
stay tuned for a tutorial for my "oh holy night" poster that will only cost you like $10! prettyyyyyy cool, guys. prettttyyy cool.
