i really have the best grandparents in the world. i was lucky to live about 25 minutes away from them while i was in college and i would go over there every sunday for dinner. my grandma would send me home with a $20 bill and a grocery bag full of food and it was like a little weekly get-away for me. i instantly felt at home and at peace and i will cherish those college years for the rest of my life. i remember this one particularly turbulent season of my life when i was all alone and heartbroken and i ran away to my grandma's house and slept in her basement in the ivy bed. i love listening to their stories and their wisdom and i wish that we were closer to them so i could continue to go over there on sunday evenings and feel that familiar and nostalgic sense of home.
the last time we visited in april, my grandpa brought out this hat and told me that he had been trying to find someone to give it to because it's too big for both him and everyone he tried to give it to. but lucky me, it was a perfect fit. i've always had a big head, it's no secret.
i wore this outfit on a lazy, stormy sunday where we got donuts in the morning and watched the world cup in the afternoon and spent a couple hours meandering through target in the evening. a plain white v-neck is something everyone should have in her closet; it gives off a casual i-woke-up-like-this vibe and looks great against a good summer tan.
